    Default Hi im new..!

Hi im new to this website, im Nicola aged 32, have a partner Nick 34, and two kids Kieran (5) and Sophie who is 17 months and has metopic, shes been referred to GOSH in London to see the Cranio team, her first appt with them is in 4 weeks time. She was given an x-ray when she was about 8 months and they said there was nothing wrong with her?!!! but when I moved to Inverness the Paed didnt even x-ray her and said she had metopic, and referred her to Edinburgh. But Edinburgh said they no longer dealt with this sort of thing and referred us to London! a long way to go when we live north of Inverness!! I will try and find some photos which best show Sophie's head shape and post them soon.

is there anyone else from scotland, Im in touch with Eleanor's mummy through another website, headlines. anyone else been at GOSH in London?

ive no idea why we werent referred to Glasgow?!!

    thanks.

Hi Nicola, I'm sorry I have no answers to your questions. I just wanted to welcome you to CK and express how sorry I am that you are going through this. Its a long hard road, but one that has been traveled sucessfully many, many times before. My son is also metopic and surgery is scheduled next month. This site-well, really the ladies on this site-have been such a strong support for me and I know they will do the same for you. Best of luck and best wishes.

    Hi Nicola
Welcome to CK - as others have said, it is fabulous here and the support is amazing. I'll pm you back and give you the info I have about the Southern. I'm really surprised though that you have been sent from Inverness to GOSH - there are of course the 3 other supra hospitals which are closer, and the Scottish version in the Southern General. The great thing for you though, is that you can hear about our great experinence there, whilst going through it with Chloe (above) in GOSH - best of both worlds.

Will pm you just now though
    Talk soon

Hi Nicola welcome to Cranio Kids. Im really sorry to hear your going through this cranio journey but im glad you've found us. GOSH is a long way from where you are, cant understand why you have been referred there when there are hospitals a lot closer to home. My son Charlie had surgery for Metopic when he was 14 months old & he just blew me away at how well he coped with it all. It's deffinately much harder on us parents.
How did you get referred to GOSH?
Maybe it's not to late to get transferred to another hospital that's more local to you. Im sure Hazel has told you how fantastic Southern General are & you only have to look at pictures of her beautiful daughter to see what an amazing job they did.
Wherever you do end up going to though, we will all be here for you every step of the way x
