This past week there have been literally hundreds of prayers (if not more) for my baby, Luke. First of all, there are no words to express my gratitude for your prayers. Thank you so much for all of your kindness, support, information, and well wishes.
Yesterday, we had the CT scan done at 2:00. The goal was to confirm left coronal craniosynostosis. The radiologist looked at it, and then she called my pediatrician. He came and looked at it, and then he said he wanted the neurologist to see it. So, the neurologist came, took a look at it, compared it to the original x-ray and then they said to me:
"This is a perfectly normal CT. His skull has NO CLOSURES and his brain appears normal."
Needless to say, we are ecstatic! I had been prepared for the worst possible news and instead, I got the best! The doctors said there was no explanation except that an x-ray is one dimensional and the CT is 3 dimensional so it can sometimes appear to be a closure on an x-ray and then turn out not to be.
Granted, we are not completely out of the woods yet. There is still a flat spot on his head so the results are being sent to Duke and we may still have to go there for further testing. But, I feel very confident that there is nothing wrong with him.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your support, friendship, and prayers.
By the way, yesterday was also my birthday....it was the best birthday ever!!!
