    Default Going private?

    Hi All,
Do people think its best to go private? Hayz has still not being given a date by DR. Dovers team at Birmingham Childrens Hospital for his operation. Mr Dover's team informed me that he required urgent surgery on the 2nd March 2011 and were still waiting? He's had his scan, but i'm just thinking is it worthwhile going private at the Great Ormond st hospital instead.
Also, how much would it cost and how soon will he be operated on if we do decide to go private?

Hi Hayz I think the best person to contact would be 'zara's mum' as she initially went down the private route I think. Have you tried speaking to one of the nurses from Birmingham to see what the hold up is??

hiya, - yup - zara had her surgery privately in Great Ormond Street. Our circumstances were very different to yours , but Zara got amazing treatment. We wouldn't have anything like the amount of money it cost for Zara's surgery, in fact there was huge local fundraising to get Zara there (google Zara Aylward for some of the stuff....) . I know the waiting is so so hard, how old is Hayz? I'm not trying to disuade you from going private, or indeed to GOSH who I am delighted with, but Birmingham are one of the supra regional hospitals, and, seeing as you are in the UK you can get the surgery for free. I don't know you, but, Zara's surgery/travel/accomodation and frequent post op check ups came to well over €35,000 - of course, that is nothing compared to Zara's/hayz's future, but, unfortunately we were refused loans everywhere we turned. Please let me know if there is anything else you would like me to help you with, we origionally attended Mr Dunaway in his private rooms in Harley Street - he organised the surgery from there along with the neurosurgeon Prof. Hayward......

    Hi Chloe,

Once again, thank you for the advice. I will be in touch if something else comes into my head.

    Thanks
