    Default Ava's Journey

Hi all - thank you so much for your support and kind comments on our blog, www.craniofoundation.org.
Ava is scheduled for full cranial vault reconstruction surgery at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto on April 7th. We will be under the excellent care of Dr. Phillips and Dr. Drake.
Janet - you have been excellent - and so have many others of you sharing your experiences and hope.
Your prayers are appreciated, and we will definitely keep the blog updated as this process begins on April 5th.
Again - thanks for sharing the blog and promoting awareness.
You are all giving me much strength and courage in a time when it's really needed.
    Love Ava's mommy

I just read your blog about the surgery day She looks great. I'm so happy for you guys. The pictures in the waiting room in the red car brought me right back to when Fi had her first surgery. Dr Phillips is really amazing.

Thanks! So far so good. She's throwing up a lot, and I'm hoping they'll let me give her some formula soon, but she's hanging in there. It's now about 12 hours past her surgery. Thanks for all your support...xoxox

Fiona had a hard time as well, she was on sugar water for the first day (plus IV fluids), that's the only thing she could keep down while she was in the ICU. When we moved upstairs she started on formula again and did a lot better, I think it also helped when they eased up a little on the morphine.
    Congrats again!
