First, I want to thank all of you for your support and thoughts today and leading up to today. It means a lot to me :)

Okay, here are my thoughts on what I'm seeing (inexperienced as I am): I think his metopic ridge is definitely starting to fuse and I can see a ridge, but no trig. It is not completely fused though. It also looks to me like his right coronal suture is starting to fuse, while his left coronal suture and lamboid surture looks wide. Now, you all may say this scan looks great; I could be totally wrong. I know we're not doctors, but it's helpful to hear others speculate.

Did they give you the written report with scan? I got it with mine and it had all the information which was good for me because I can't tell from the scans..

But am anxious to see what other think too

Hi. I looked at his scans and, while I'm certainly not an expert in reading CT scans, I do see what you are seeing. But, I have seen other scans on here that had tight looking coronals which appeared fused and turned out to be totally fine. I agree with you on the metopic, but he is at an age where it is likely to be starting to fuse (studies have shown complete closure by 3 months in normocephalic children). Its interesting to see the difference between a CT and xray and why xrays are often inconclusive. When you have the dimension of the CT scan, you can see the bony ridge and where there is the faintest suture line. IMO, his metopic is almost done fusing since the bony ridge is there. His forehead looks fine, though, with no trig. In an xray, you would clearly see the open suture line which is often read as negative. But, the suture first closes with fibrous cartilage and then bone, so this is often a false negative.

Anyway, back to William. I'm really surprised that he wasn't put into a helmet after endoscopic surgery since there really needs to be an external force to drive the skull growth in the right direction. Without it, you would assume that the skull will tend to revert back to its original shape which is so common with cranio. This often happens in CVRs if overcorrection wasn't performed. (((HUGS)))) I hope you get some answers soon. I'm guessing the bump that you are concerned about is actually how is brain/skull is growing since this may have been the area that was opened up the most from the surgery?

Hi! I think right now, his overall head shape looks ok...but like Mindy said, it will want to go back to it's old familiar saggy shape(especially since you were given no helmet therapy), so keep an eye on things. I do see what you're seeing with the right coronal. I hope it's just a matter of the suture not showing clearly on the scan, but definitely ask your surgeon about it.

Bring me up to speed since I'm late to your story (here or when we chat.) Do you have a pre-op CT or just post-op? I see surgery was in September. I *think* the other sutures all look ok, starting to fuse some, but like Mindy said, probably normal, and overall headshape looks ok to me as well. I see lots of open spots, none huge, but some don't seem to be in places where I'd expect to see open spots post-op? I dunno - it's been awhile since I looked at scans - I'll have to bring up Zack's old ones to compare a bit. Rest of the work day is crazy, but I'll take a closer look when I can!

Thanks all who have peeked! Well, I didn't get the report..I can get the report when I go back for an appt on the 21st. I just wanted at least the images. I have a call to the NS nurse to see if she'll give me some results over the phone. I'll update after she calls back. :)
