Default Tell me what you think?

Hi there. Im posting this for a friend. Her son is 2 months post-op. She's concerned about the narrowing in the front and also about the back. What are your headpicker opinions:) He was Sagittal and had a CVR.

    This is what they did........................................

"yes, they removed the strips on either side of the fused suture. Shortened the strip of bone left along the suture. barrel cut the sides. and starburst cuts in the back"

It doesn't look like the pic came through. Here it is again Shelby - I ended up registering - looks like I can get some good advice on here!! The picture of him in the blue tub just of the top of his head is what I'm concerned about. It is in my album.

Hi there just wanted to welcome you to cranio kids, your little man is adorable!
Im a Metopic mummy so not too sure about saggital but i do see your concerns.
He is only 2 months post op though so i would imagine that he still has a lot of head changes to go.
Have you voiced your concerns to your surgeon at all? x

I did ask at our 3 week post-op visit and he said that it should round out in time as he continues to grow. However, I've noticed that the narrowing at the temples seems to have gotten worse, not better. We are supposed to go back in November. I guess I will ask him about it again then. We were extremely severe posteriorly and they didn't do any cuts on the frontal bones during his CVR. They really focussed on the back of his noggin!! The back looks amazing, comparitively speaking.

I just hope and pray that it will round out because I couldn't imagine, nor do I want to imagine having to put him through all of that again!!

Maybe you should give them a call and ask if you can get in any sooner?
He deffinately does have quite a bit of temple pinching so i can see why your concerned.
If only we all had a crystal ball to see a little into the future & to stop us worrying so much....that would be just great.

    Hang in there x

Well, I'm not a "headpicker" :) But I do see why you're concerned about the front narrowing. :( I agree completely--I can't imagine having to go through that surgery again. I hope it rounds out as it grows.
My little guy's head isn't as round as it was just out of surgery, and it's only been a month, so it makes me nervous.
    He's a cutie! I have an Ashton too :)

I'm also a metopic mommy, so I'm not as familiar with sagittal babies. I do see what you are concerned about, but it could still be early in the healing process. Sometimes, it takes a long time for all the swelling to go down.

Sometimes the weekends slow down around here - there will be more headpickers on later, I'm sure.

    Welcome to CK.

I'm not a saggital mom but I do understand your concerns. I would try to get in sooner if I were you- hopefully the docs will tell you it will widen as he grows... Good luck and welcome to CK...keep us posted!
