Anyone know what the 1st step is for fighting insurance? We are needing a 2nd surgery and it's out-of-network and out of state. Also anyonee have Laurie the Insurance Warrior's contact info?

I think the first step is to actually get the denial in writing. Then you would move on to step 1 in the appeals process. Get a copy of your insurance companies appeal process ASAP.

    Jenni-

My very best advice is to hire Laurie immediately. I wish I had known about her before surgery- I would have saved myself a year of stress worry and many late nights writing my own appeal which took me six months to complete. To my knowledge Laurie has won every appeal she has written (four so far for Dr Fearon and fifty or so for other docs/specialties) so although it is not cheap to hire her I believe it will be well worth it. Good luck and keep us posted. Do you have a date of surgery yet?

I'm still wondering why she didn't take Oneplustwin's case.
