Red face sagittal and metopic question

My daughter has been deemed sagittal. Her metopic is fused also(has had a prominent ridge since -cesarean birth)

We are currently waiting to see a new team of docs. only because of the unavailability of the previous ones, and the previous ones said that they were MORE concerned about the sagittal and less about the metopic. I'm wondering, that IF they do surgery on the sagittal end of things and then after healing from that, will she possibly take on a metopic problem?

Has anyone had this happen? I could have sworn someone on here had something similar to this, but I can't find the post.

And we are doing CVR, so should that just take care of everything or could they possibly leave the metopic alone?

I believe that it's the combination of the two that's saving the shape of her head as a whole, but if you take one out, won't the other start shinning?

    tough questions mama.

First, I think the "post" your talking about is Heidi. Her Josh had surgery for sagittal and then her son's head took on the metopic shape. However, at this point, there is uncertainty about whether or not it's due his metopic being fused or because his brain was under so much pressure that when they released his sagittal suture his head grew outward too quickly. IDK. She's still seeking for answers about it.

How is Teshura'shead look from a bird's eye pic? Do you see any of the characteristics of trigonocephaly...triangular shape, pinching, etc? If I were in your shoes I'd be asking all these things too. I wish I had more info for you.

My best advice is to get a couple of opinions about this. I'd be happy to provide you with the email of my son's surgeon if you'd like.

Yes, I'll talk to Heidi then too. But no, she does not have pinching. I think because her sagittal is almost fully fused, it's saving her head from having the pinching and triangle shape. Would you say that's correct? She looks like classic sagittal, and I intend on asking these questions to the specialist. The surgeons are not saying that they are not going to touch the metopic, they just haven't necessarily said that they are. But then again, I'm seeing a new strand of docs. so I'll have to see what they say.

I would definitely address that when you meet your new doctors. I don't know how much more involved it would be to address everything all at once - but it would be heartbreaking to have to do it twice, I'm sure.
