    Default neck vein question

Our 13 month old son has always had big neck veins. I asked his PED when he was little and he said they were fine to have. He hardly ever cries but when he does they bulge out pretty big---it kind of wigs me out. Sometimes they will bulge out a little when he is chatting real loud or blowing real hard. You can see them pretty easy. I also asked the PA of our NS --and she said it was fine and had nothing to do with cranio. I don;t see alot of other toddlers---so I was curious if this is common. Our New Ped said they are fine and she said his veins are sitting on the muscle and it makes them come out more--she felt them and said it was fine. But it just looks weird.
    Is this common

LOL Avery too. If he gets really upset he has one vein on his neck that pops out but mostly it is the one on his head. FREAKY

Thank you both for the comments---- I had them checked out and they said they were fine---they are sittign on top of the muscle and that is why they stick out---I just posted to the other forum on helmets---my son has always had tons of little veins in his head ---I geuss from being a sagg baby:) But ever since he started wearing his hemlet during the day--I notice that one is particulary dark and more easily seen and sticks out a little----when we take it off---The PA said it is a normal vein and he probably alwasy had it---but I wonder if the helmet is making it darker or the heat from the helmet? Or his age---WHen did the veins in your LO head start showing up

No neck veins but Neve has some on her head that really become visable when she is upset. I dont know if its the veins or the fact that she has inherited my very pale corned beef skin and they are just more noticeable.
