    Default Parkers scan was today!

We went to Parkers appointment today! the scan was so simple! they put a little cap on his head, and he had to wear a black shirt... and used a little hand held laser to scan it!! The chief orthotics/prothetics guy looked at Parker and said "hes definitely plagio" and he has a mild case of torticollis.. so were meeting with the physical therapist when we go get Parkers helmet on the 18 of this month.

After he scanned Parkers head he showed it to us on the computer screen, and you can really tell hes plagio and not cranio! his whole right side of his head was shifted forwards.. even his ear! it was really amazing to see Parkers head that way, after seeing so many pictures and cts of kids with plagio, and being able to go "ooooohhh i see it!!"

Sorry this was very rambly.. its been a REALLY long day!!

That is really great news. I'm glad the scan was easy to get thru. I also liked seeing Sophies scan when it has been done. Good luck with the helmet therapy!

Were meeting with the physical therapist the 18 of this month, on the same day we get to pick up his helmet.. and then we will only have to go back once a month for the helmet checks.. unless theres red marks or any other sort of problems.

And, yeah that! I subscribe to a plagio/helmet therapy listserve and every time someone posts some dramatic post about how awful it is that their baby has to wear a helmet and poor me, blah, blah...I'm like, Are you kidding? They aren't cutting your baby's skull open! A helmet is a walk in the park compared to major surgery. I was so relieved when I heard Patrick only helmet therapy that I practially kissed the NS. lol. Guess it's all perspective.

Final diagnosis of plagiocephaly with 12mm of cranial vault asymmetry and a scaphocephalic head shape, probably from in-utero molding.
