We arepast the first year after my oldest son Michael's last surgery. His head ischanging all the time. We have had several issues including, wires that aretrying to force their way out of the skin on the top of his head, and having tohave them removed. Not through surgery but in office pulling them out andcutting them with no numbing meds. Of course there are lumps associated withthe surgery, and his head is a bit lopsided..... Either the bones aren’thealing right or the wires are running away ...
We finally got in to see Dr. Cruz so that we could get the diagnosis. We traveled back to KC just for a day or two so we could find out what was wrong and help our son in with a Colorado doctor. The Doctor hospitalized us that same day. He said that our son had increased brain pressure that had probably increased as the brain tried to grow against the skull that had fully sealed it self (all his sutures(soft spots) were closed early). that as a result he had brain damage. SO.......I have 5 children and one on the way... so soon to be 6 total. Two of my five children have been diagnosed with well lets call it CRANIO because I really don't like trying to remember how to spell the entire name of it. I remember when our pediatrician tried to tell us the diagnosis..... He finally gave up trying to explain and gave us a website that he thought was safe from scary mis information. My boys are 6 and 8 now but when they were diagnosed they were 5 and just about to turn 7. ...
