View Full Version : honest opinions please...
Ok, here's some pics of Jam...what do you think? Got another head comment and want to know if I should be concerned and push harder with the Dr's or keep waiting it out. He's almost 9 mo now so if he needs a helmet or something I don't want to drag my feet until its too late. I try to get the same angle...but he loves the camera and always trys to pose. His head seem to be getting a kidney bean shape to it (don't know how else to describe it) is that a plagio thing?

i see what you mean.. the kidney bean shape could be plagio, but even sometimes plagio requires helmet therapy. I would have him checked again. Rechecks never hurt anyone! It seems like a lot has changed in just a months perod, so i would have it looked at.

It does look like he has had some significant change over a month's time.....couldn't hurt to have it checked again. Have you seen a neuro doc or cranio or just regualr peds doc?
I didn't think this post worked so I re-posted it, so needless to say there is another thread under cranio chat. oops :)
He had only seen his pedi but we are waiting for an appt with a CFS.

I would definately get him rechecked. It seems to me that a LOT of change has happened in just a month.
Keep us posted!

You know what, my dd, Georgia had similiar shape in the back of her head too. Is that what you were talking about? Georgia has plagio and is currently being treated with a DOC band. She is doing great in it. Definitely keep us posted. Hope everyone is doing well.!!

I too would get him rechecked. Good luck! Could you set up a consult with say, Cranial Tech, if the CFS says all is fine suture wise? Plagio kids are in helmets quite a bit.

Sorry Tams...I have to agree with the others. The back of his looks like it has gotten "longer" ??? if that makes any sense, lol. Second, third opinions never hurt. Good luck and keep us posted. Also, with my son's positional, the back of his neck and his skull were in one line...no outward protusion at all...very, very flat.

My husband and I both think that the back of his head looks similar to the back of Zachary's head. Zachary had sagittal. His head was very long from front to back and it got noticably longer in the 4 months between his birth and his surgery.

the ridge/bump/knot thingy in the back does look like what you normally see in sagittal cranio, but the front doesn't look sagittal to me if you look at Jackson's befores and afters you can see what I mean. I would agree that another look at things is a good idea. push til you get good answers, that's what the mommy business is all about!

I can see the change as well. His Head reminds me a lot of Patrick's before helmet therapy actually. When is your appointment with the surgeon?
IF they can definitively rule out Cranio then the best time to begin helmet therapy is before a year, and the sooner the better. Hopefully they won't keep you waiting long.

Yeah I notice the change I agree that getting it rechecked would be beneficial (and bring those photos!)
