Texas members beware...

Just a word of warning that a certain member of another craniofacial group is trying very hard to get the e-mail addresses of all Texas members so that she can send you e-mails all about the Jelly Beans for Jilly Bean event in Texas next year. If you would prefer to not have your e-mail address given out, you might want to let it be known before you are inundated with e-mails.

Management, if you find this inappropriate, I apologize. I am one who has been inundated with requests for the e-mail addresses of members here and have ended up very annoyed, and am only trying to save other members from being inundated as well...

Thank you very much for the warning Melissa. Several of us realized here intentions a while back and she has since been banned from this site for searching our member list and spamming other sites with their names requesting info. I do still receive emails from her requesting information, which I am adament about not giving out. :hugg

I'm glad I didn't offend anyone. She has a post up at another group, listing the names of several members from here and asking anyone with their e-mail addresses to contact her and give them to her. I replied that I thought it was inappropriate and she replied that since they were from here, not there, so it should be fine. I, personally, am so tired of that woman. She even e-mailed me asking if I could 'help' her get back in here because she has 'lost' her sign-in information. I told her that if she had lost her info there was nothing I could do and she'd have to contact the managers of the group. I figured she might have been banned....

Here is just one of the posts she put up asking for e-mail addresses:

It's nice to know she's not here, so I don't have to put up with her constantly taking over threads to post the same information over and over, posting asking for e-mail addies, etc...

I've been annoyed with her postings on the other board too, because they're just the same thing over and over, like Melissa said, and it's not even relevant to the thread. I was considering emailing the administrators there about it, because it really is spam. I didn't because I guess I feel sorry for her. She must have hard life. My feeling is she has very poor social skills and is unaware that what she does is so annoying to others. I think I did get one email from her at some point months ago, but just deleted it. Hope she stops bothering you Melissa.

I was wondering if she was even a real person or just someone out there spamming! I notice that most people ignore her so I have been doing the same. I do get sporadic emails from her. I just delete them. I hope that she truly means well but it is sooooo inappropriate. Thanks for banning her from here! I feel safer to know you are watching out for us Katie!!

I held off saying anything to management until I saw that post asking for the e-mails of multiple members from here. I mentioned to them that she's been e-mailing me, etc, and I haven't seen a post from her since, so I don't know if they did something, or not. It could just be pure coincidence, too. It's really annoyed me when I've started a post and she's jumped in to tell me all about this event - I'm half a country away from Texas. I mean, I'm glad that they have the event, and that it gets more exposure for craniofacial conditions, but I don't need to be told about it multiple times. Ah well...thanks for keeping her out of here and providing us an annoyance free place to talk, and thanks for letting me vent a little, too...

Okay, this is the email that came to my home email box today. I wonder if I should call this woman and let her know that she is giving out her phone number in emails to several people (I put the x's in to make sure that at least I respected her privacy). I'm just not sure why she felt the need to ask me to talk to her? I have no idea why she would tell me all this personal stuff about this woman. Or, do I just put on my big girl pants and email Georgette and tell her to stop?

Lauren, I think I'd do both - call the lady, if it's not long distance, and let her know that Georgette is sending her phone number out and that she's well-known for mass mailing things like that. Suggest that she might not want to be so trusting with her personal information in the future, especially where Georgette is concerned. I think I'd also e-mail Georgette and tell her that you do not wish to receive anymore e-mails from her.

That woman is fast becoming unsufferable. Someone should send her a list of netiquette rules that includes the one about not sending mass e-mails (aka spam) to people who didn't request it, not collecting e-mail addresses for such, not posting the same thing in a thousand places, etc. Anyone got a copy??? Or can we write something like that and then all mass-mail her??? LOL....(imagine an evil smilie here, LOL)

I get e-mails from her ALL the time. I've just gotten to the point of deleting them when I see her name! Man, if i found out she was posting my personal stuff, we would have a serious problem on hand! I've been gettting the SAME da** e-mails about that event for almost a year now! I live in Texas and have no intention of going. Probably because of her persistance!
