I know this is a total no-no, but my daughter sleeps on her tummy. Today is her first day of helmet therapy to attempt correcting malformation associated with her metopic suture and some minor plagio.
So, my question is, can she still sleep on her tummy even with the helmet on? It kind of pushes on her cheek and I'm worried it will be totally uncomfortable!
What do you think? :confused

If it is not uncomfortable for her to do so I don't see why not. Avery slept all over his. lol Front, back, sides.....just be sure the edges in front are smooth and don't cut into her cheeks after a while.
She is a cutie, by the way!

does she roll over yet? Can she roll over with it on? If so I would imagine it's fine. But I would be very careful to make sure it doesn't prevent her from moving her head from side to side or force her face into the mattress or anything. She's so cute in her helmet!

Oh... good point. I did tummy time with her today and she seemed to do well moving her head from side to side. She was also able to roll from her front to her back (she can't do back to front even without the helmet!).
This is all so much to get used to! I'm really hoping I don't have to re-teach her how to go to sleep, too!!:sigh
Tomorrow is day 3-- 4 hours on and 1 hour off (the on and off seems to be the worst of this whole thing!). We'll see how she does for that, but I am amazed at how well she is adjusting to the whole thing.

They adjust much easier than we do! We went straight to 23 hours/day, never did the on off, but Patrick was 100 used to it by the end of the 2nd night. The first night his sleep was definitely off more than usual. But then again, he's always been a lousy sleeper so I was used to it.
good luck.

Colin was a terrible sleeper, but the helmet did not phase him. I cried though, when I laid him down that night. It just seemed so unfair that he had to wear it to bed. He didn't wake up any more then normal that night, and it has never seemed to bother him whatever his position (and he is all over the place).

both my kids were tummy sleeper too ( I KNOW I KNOW.....but they were) Carson got his helmet at 10 weeks and continued to still sleep on his tummy. I was also nervous but i just checked on him a bunch the first few nights and made sure there was nothin else in his crib and it all was fine. best of luck
