Hi -
I've been meaning to post these pictures for ages. My son Cullen was born with metopic in August of 2007, had the endoscopic procedure at 10 weeks at Children's Hospital in Boston, and wore a helmet for 6 months. I wanted to share these pictures with those of you trying to figure out what to do. As I said in a post long ago (search Cullen) don't be afraid of the endoscopic procedure! We were very happy with the results, but you should judge for yourself. As you'll see from the pictures, the first is a shot of his head before the procedure, the second is about a week after the procedure, the third is 6 months after the end of helmet therapy, and the last two (he's the lighter of the twins) are quite recent.
Good luck to everyone going through this. It's very difficult and scary, but you'll get through it - and the best part is that the kids don't remember a thing!
Best wishes,
Kathy
