Hi Guys,
I'm sorry I haven't been able to get on much this week. My sister's baby had the diarrhea and got sent home from daycare and me like a dork said I'd watch her for two hours till they got a babysitter. Welp now my two little ones are sick as dogs with it. You have no idea how horrible it is or smelly it is to have not one but two sick with this. I have no idea what to do to bind them. I know this is a little much but I'm at my whits end. I cant not give him formula he's only six months and teething to boot. I haven't slept in three days and I'm not exaggerating.
Well anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and I'll try to respond to as many threads as I can but I should be a regular next week. Oh and we had to cancel Lauren's post op and Opthalmologist appt. Wednesday because her eye doctor had to have emergency surgery and is out for 6 weeks. I really really wanted to schedule her eye surgery soon and get it over with. Sorry guys I'm having a very rough week!
Bye:) Miss you guys!!

:hugg :hugg As if one sick kid isn't hard enough, two would make me pull my hair out!
Can Joey have cereal at all? Rice cereal can be binding, as well as certain 1st foods like bananas. For Lauren, I'd suggest Gerber Graduates like turkey and rice, cheese if she'll eat it, crackers, etc... Anything starchy can help slow the runs down.
You defenitely want to avoid juice and fruits like raisins, as well as dark green veggies, they can make life more miserable for you and the kids' tooshies right now.
Even if they don't have a rash yet, try to put a little aquaphor on their bottoms as a preventative.
Can you tell we've been down this road before? :giggle
Hope they are feeling better soon :hugg

Yuck is right.
Bananas are binding. So is rice milk according to Clara's ped. You can also try applesauce. The aquaphor is a good idea, Katie. Clara's ped also suggested that you can mix baby acidopholis powder in the applesauce or a drink. You can get it at the health food store. It's tasteless, but a tad gritty. Acidopholis is the stuff in yogurt. It seems to work very well for Clara and I even tried it myself and it seems to be good stuff. Ask their ped if you have any doubts, of course. Good luck

It's a Eucerin (spelling?) product. You can get it at any retailer or drug store. They make a special "kids" one, but it's the exact same thing as the regular aquaphor that they throw a special label on and charge more for. It's usually in the same aisle as lotions. I don't know what it is about that stuff, but it was the one and only product that would ever get rid of Dillon's butt rashes.

Oh-no, went down this road twice this year. Rice milk and wonder bread seemed to do the trick for Gabe, but he ended up with a rash that had him howling in pain. He took lots of baths with baking soda in the water. He also got very dehydrated and would not drink a thing. That is when we introduced him to popcicles. For the odor, any of the Fabreeze room sprays work excellent to remove the odor from a room quick.
Hope you all feel better soon!

Hey Guys,
Lauren is feeling much better and we went to a pumpkin patch today..I'll post pictures soon. Joey is still very sick (my in-laws watched him for us so we could go to the pumpkin patch). He has a doctor's appt this week. I'm so upset cause they wont give him his flu shot if he's sick and they never have enough. Wouldn't you think they'd realize this every year and make more!!
We had a terrific time at the pumpkin patch..she rode her first pony. (yep mommy cried). How come they grow so fast! Well thank you everyone for all your help..I just needed to vent. I felt like Iwas losing it there for a bit. I knew mommyville would be hard..but some days it just seems to beat you up pretty good! I'm so glad I have you guys!
Hey the baking soda really did wonders!!! And the aquaphor is AMAZING!! BLESS YOU GUYS!!

Sorry I missed this hope all is going well, for future reference don't put too many diaper creams with powders they can get a fungal rash and it will spread so lots of sit bathes, and ask your doctor about nystatin cream it's through prescription but I always keep some just in case it's for fungal rash. Sometimes a diaper rash is fungal, it will bleed when you wipe and be real sore. Vaseline or a clear ointment is better then the colored ones.

I've read that they are not expecting a flu shot shortage this year, so he should be able to get one when he's better.
