Tomorrow is the big day. I am just trying to get things ready. We went and got blood work done today. Again they couldn't find Miriam's paper work. I had to call down there on Wednesday to try to find out about the blood work and they didn't have the order. So, I spent the day playing phone tag and finally got it done. Just to have them today tell me that they didn't have it. I was so frastrated. We did get it done after spending 3 hours there. All that for a vile of blood.
I have been trying to get my house in order, laundry, dishes, dusting, things like that. I don't want to have to come home to a messy house. I have a feeling that is the last thing that I will need.
Her surgery is for 7:30 am so we have to be there at 6:00. My husband is working graveyard shift tonight, so he is going to meet me there. I am trying to be strong and think positive.
Thank you so much all of you for giving me the hope that I need. Thanks again. We are hoping to be home on Tuesday or Wednesday. I will give you the update when I get home.
Thanks again!!

Miriam is doing wonderful. The surgery went so smoothly. Dr. Schmelzer was so excited that she did so good. We were in the PICU from 2:00 pm on Friday to 10:00 am on Saturday.
Then they moved us on to the infant floor. Miriam has done remarkable. She did have a hard time keeping her food down, but since yesterday she has done fine.
Dr. Schmelzer said that we can go home tomorrow. I am amazed at how well she has done. She is so strong. She finally woke up enough today to start making really cute noises.
Thanks for the support. I will send the pictures. We have a lot of them.

:cheer Yeah! Great news. When you get home, remember to take a few minutes for yourself. Our first two days at home were hard. My husband kept looking at me like I was ready for the big rubber room. Finally he had enough, he handed me the keys to the car and the credit card and made me leave the house. I walked around the mall for an hour dazed and confused. When I look back, a hug, a nap and some chocolate would have been just as good. You are still in my prayers. Be kind to yourself. I'm so happy to hear your news!

I am actually doing great. I think I was so prepared for the worse to happen that now I can just relax and be amazed that she is doing so well.
In the hospial I had dessert with every meal. It was my therapy. I am sure I have gained back the 10 pounds I had lost.
We are home now. We got to leave yesterday morning. She is doing great. She can open her right eye a little bit this morning. She gave us lots of big smiles. Her pain has been managed fairly well. She doesn't seem to be in a lot of pain.
She woke up this morning and I picked her up and I could hear the fluid in her head. No one told me about this. It is kind of gross. I am sure it is normal, considering all the fluid.
Today we are just lounging around. I had a babysitter lined up for Hunter because I thought we wouldn't be home this early, so he is there. It is so quiet. Miriam is sleeping so I think I might take a nap too. Thanks for the support.

This is right after the surgery. About 2:00 pm on Friday. The swelling really hasn't kicked in yet.

This is her incision. I think Dr. Schmelzer did a wonderful job. It is almost artistic.

Friday night still in the ICU. She was able to look at us a little.

This is the first time I was able to hold her. Saturday morning on the infant floor.

Peak of the swelling on Saturday.
Thanks again. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
