hello everyone. my apologies for not having a photo attached, but i am quite computer illiterate when it comes to photos. i tried to attatch a photo from an email, but it doesnt seem to be working... anyway,

just to inform you my son is scheduled for an extended vertex craniotomy this tuesday, oct 3rd, to correct his sagittal craniosynostosis. as some of you may recall from my previous posts, he was only diagnosed with this last monday, sept 25. we are going ahead full speed because of his age. if we wait even 2 more weeks, we may have to run the risk of having a PI done, which is a more "invasive" procedure. we want what's best for him, so we had to make a decision quickly. thanks to all of your posts on this message board, and after talking to various individuals, we were able to come to a decision. it is crazy, but although we have the surgery scheduled at NYU on tuesday, we managed to squeeze in a second opinion tomorrow at cornell. (i am obviously a new yorker). i am expecting the same diagnosis, but i just need to hear it from another specialist for peace of mind, because this all happened way too fast.
in the end, i ask you to please think of my little guy this tuesday, his name is patrick. i would really appreciate it.

I will be thinking of you today and tomorrow...god bless you. Just think that this is for the best and at least you don't have so much time to sit and think about it. He will be fine. Please keep us posted!
