View Full Version : Light at the end of the tunnel?
Our next appt with Dr. Awesome (Proctor) is Jan 5th - we had a helmet check today and had the conversation - the light at the end of the tunnel? We have enother helmet check on the Dec 16th and, depending on what Dr. Awesome says, that could be it ... which is great! However, we have been going there at least once a week, then twice a week for the past 5 months ... and I will be honest, I got a little teary. These amazing people have been so so so awesome to us, and now we will probably never see them again after next month. It is great, wonderful, awesome, and also very emotional. Anyone else ever feel this way? Or am I just an emotional mess?
I will miss them. Maggie will miss them, too. Jake, the center of it all, doesn't know any different ... but we do. Such amazing people - and in 5 years, will I remember their names? Ahhhhh ... I'm just being emotional ...:violin

that's great news for Jake
Yeah - I'm not going to miss the helmet at all, but I am going to miss the incredable people that have helped my son so much over the past 5 months. All of these people, so selfless and caring ...

BEAN- How are you? I haven't been on too much lately! I just added a new album of Henry and how he has grown. Our Dr.s and orthotist are maintaining that he will have to wear the helmet until he is 1 year old and then possibly at night. WHY? I am starting to get annoyed because while I love the team of Dr.s., I don't like the helmet and am so sick of going once a week to get it checked! Can you tell me what their philosophy is? Maybe I can share it/run it by our Dr.s. He has had it on now for over 3 months.

I hope all goes well on the 16th!
I know exactly what you mean about saying good-bye to the people who were such a big part of your cranio journey. It's crazy but I miss going to our orthotics appointments and now that we've moved we can't even pop in for a visit. :( We'll be back to visit family next July and will have a follow-up with Dr. 'A' Proctor then but what a switch from regular appointments and helmet adjustments to nothing!
