Hi Everyone,

Please pray for us this week and especially next week...Monday, August 14th is the big day for Lauren. What I've dreaded these last few months is finally here. Her pre-op appt. is on Wednesday, so I'll keep you posted. What goes on during the Pre-op visit?

Well anyway, I'm a mess and I just really need prayers to help us through this. Thanks everyone for all your support these past few months. You've given me hope when there was none.

God bless you all!
Denise

Of course we will! This is going to be a tough week, but you will get through it. Our pre-op was pretty uneventful, he had a physical to make sure that all their info was current. I remember leaving and kind of thinking, that's it? But every hospital is different. Did they already test her blood so they have the right type in the OR? Are you donating or are you using the blood bank? If they haven't done that yet, that will probably happen. If they do bloodwork, ask for EMLA cream (it numbs the skin so she won't feel the needles). I made them use it every time they drew blood after surgery too (I irritated the nurses because I wouldn't let them draw blood without it, I felt like he had been through enough). Hang in there, in no time you will be telling us how well she is doing.

Many prayers will go out to you! She will do great (I know, that doesn't help much).....If your anything like me, this week will go extremely slow, but sunday night it will have gone way to fast.
Our pre-op was extremely uneventful. The one with the NS was just an 'okay, do you have any more questions....she'll be in the hospital this long, etc.... We also had to go to the hospital for a pre-op where we filled out a ton of paperwork and they went over how admittance would work and let us know the anestisiologist (still can't spell that word) would call the night before, let us know what would probably be the feeding schedule....that's about it....as we donated blood, her blood had already been typed a month before.....

Please keep us posted as to how you are doing. It is so scary and so tough, but she really will amaze you. I'm pretty postitive that by this time in 2 weeks you'll be on cloud nine that the whole thing is pretty much done..... Many :hugg's and :pray 's.....

We will absolutely pray for Lauren and a speedy recovery! I don't remember much about Dillon's pre-op visit so I don't think it was anything major. They pretty much just want to make sure that Lauren doesn't have any kind of virus or other illness that may make the surgery more difficult on her. They may possible draw blood to check for anemia, but that is usually at the Dr's discretion.
I know how scared you are, the few days before Dillon's surgery what was happening really hit me like a rock. I knew he looked different than other babies, but that was the Dillon I knew and loved. I was so afraid they would change my boy. I was afraid that he'd be in pain, I was afraid recovery would be hard on him, I was afraid of it all. It turns out that Dillon did awesome, recovered great, and still had the same sweet smile we adored :hugg

Oh good luck sweetie but you won't need it. Like the ladies have said, these babies are so strong and resilient. They bounce back like you wouldn't believe. She will amaze you, I know it's easier said than done and it's very difficult to stay calm but just know that you are doing what's best for her. You will definetely be in my thoughts and prayers and please keep us posted on the surgery and her recovery. Spend as much fun time together this week to try and get over the anxiety. Go have some mommy and daughter time and simply enjoy!!!

You will be in my prayers! I found the support group after Amanda's surgery 2nd surgery and boy are you lucky to have the group before surgery. We had to fly in from the Philippines a week before surgery to do all the pre-op work and get the blood donation done so aside from all the stress we were moving a lot with my 2 other daughters in tow. Time flies..before you know it you're out of the hospital and doing your post-op! Anyway, goodluck and god bless you both!

Fingers and toes are crossed for your pre-op appt today. Even though this appt should be easy it is still stressful. I have been thinking about you today and hope all went well.
