Thanks for the warm welcome.

My son Bradley was diagnosed with coronal craniosynostosis just recently. It has been extremly hard for me to cope with. This past Tuesday we took Bradley to see a Neurosurgeon. He went over everything with us and referred us to a specialist at John Hopkins. So now I am waiting to get an appointment with Dr. Jallo at John Hopkins to see what the next step is. I am terrified for my son and I really don't want him to go threw the pain of surgery.

Again welcome. I'm glad you found us. Hopefully we can be of support to you during this scary time.
What type of specialist did the NS refer you to? How old is Bradly now?

As for pain- I'm not going to say it is painless, but the children really don't feel much. They are put to sleep (obviously) before the surgery and most keep the infants pretty medicated for a while. By 2 or 3 days post-op though, they are usually almost back to their cute little selfs. Less than a week post op- besides the swelling, with my daughter, you would never have guessed that she had just had this major surgery. They are so strong- I truely believe it is harder on us than it is on them..... Many :hugg's to you. Please ask all the questions you want, vent any fear or frustration you have. We have really been there (or are there) and hopefully we can help.

Welcome! I know how scary this all is, but like Jennifer said this is harder on us than them. I couldn't believe my son, he was smiling less than 10 hrs after surgery. You have come to the right place, the support you will find here is amazing! We are always here to listen!

By the way Bradley is too cute!! I love his hair!
