Well, the hospital sent me a copy of both the x-ray and CT reports for Luke when they sent them to Duke. I am not sure how these results sound, but my first thought is that they are pretty good. There are a few words that concern me, but I am hoping that is just medical lingo.

Here's what the x-ray said:
"The sagittal suture, lambdoidal suture and right coronal sutures appear patent. Portion of the left coronal suture is visualized although a focal craniosynostosis in this region may be present. Further evaluation with CT imaging is suggested.

Impression: Question partial craniosynostosis of the left coronal suture."

Then the CT said this:

Ventricular system is midline. No evidence of intracranial hemorrhage. No extra-axial fluid collections are detected. Coronal sutures appear symmetric on this exam. Sagittal suture appears grossly unremarkable. No evidence of sutural diastasis.

Impression: No acute intracranial process. Coronal sutures appear fairly symmetric on this exam with no definite cranial stenosis demonstrated."

So.....this sounds pretty good to me. What do you guys think???? I need some HONEST IMPARTIAL opinions. Please be honest! :roll

I think I got the same impression you got.
The X-ray thought that part of the coronal suture was fused, though the CT (or the examinar) believed it appeared to be symmetric with no obvious fusion. That was how my mind translated the report.

It sounds good to me (though I am not the expert!).....just keep in mind that that is how the technician (all the sudden I can't spell that word??) read the scan. Not how a Nuerosurgeon read it. I wouldn't be at complete ease until a NS read it- but I sure would have some good feelings after that report (personally).

I have half of my degree and completed MED TERMS, ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY, for medical assisting. Basically it means that he has no hydrocephalus which is extra fluid in the brain, and all of the other sutures are fine but the one suture is in question which means it could be starting to fuse, like they just are catching it. The follow up CT'S are just to keep close watch because it may be starting to fuse. Good Luck, try not to worry....I know thats hard.

Don't they just frustrate you. I got a letter from my eye doctor and I can't read any of those words either. The best of luck to you. We will keep you in our prayers.
