Has anyone ever heard of a soft helmet? Breleigh is going into surgery on May 8 and the doctor has told me that she would not need a helmet due to the fact she is not having the endoscopic surgery. Someone told me about a soft helmet that the babies can wear that will not mold their head but just protect them while playing. Breleigh is only 10 months old and not walking but she does some pretty fast crawling. I am afraid that she will learn how to walk after surgery a bump her little head alot. Does the soft helmet really protect that?

I got Beth a thumpa helmet online @ http://www.thudguard.com/ check them out unfortunately its collecting dust at our house as Beths unusual head shape is causing the helmet to leave pressure marks. I would consult your doctor before purchasing anything to make sure that it is the right choice.

Hi there,
When Jakob had his CVR, he was given a blue soft helmet by Texas Children's Hospital to wear until his swelling was down and his molding helmet was ready. It was kinda big and soft, and was only for protection.
Maybe check with your surgeon to see if they also give the protective helmets!

My Dr. said if we were concerned we could get a foamy helmet from the hospital to protect her head. We opted out but it was purely for protection.
