We saw the 2nd plastic surgeon today and he agreed with the other Dr's. We need to do another repair. Either the strings have broken or stretched out. He did comment that he's never seen a repair like her's before so he will need to see the op report. The Dr cut open the lid all the way across then set in the rod which is not how they normally do it so now I'm wondering, was the surgery botched in the first place? Depending on what's going on when they go in they may just tighten the silicone or they may replace it with the facisia(sp?).

I don't know mch about that but I will send you a big HUG! It is always hard to hear your child will go through surgery again!

Sorry to hear that she needs another ptosis surgery. I don't really know the standard procedure for that operation, but I know Clara has some barely noticeable scars right above her eyebrows, they did not cut her lids. I had 4 ptosis surgeries because the first doctor really did botch it, not sure how though. I also have scars above my eyebrows. Good luck.

She has a scar along the length of her entire lid then 3 smaller scars above her eye brow. Its pretty noticeable and people think she was in an accident or something.

How long ago was her surgery? It can sometimes take a long time, but the scars should fade.

1 year ago last month. The redness has faded a lot but the scare is very noticeable.
