...Here's a few pics of Isaac from the bath the other day. He wasn't being too cooperative and the lighting isn't the best in there. Keep in mind that he's mild Metopic...it's very hard to see in the pics.
Here's a pic of the Top down...

Here's a pic of his face, his pupils are very slightly uneven here...due to the flash and his left pupil is slower to respond. This pic doesn't really show how uneven they usually are though.

Here's close up of the forehead...I'm sorry it's kinda blurry.

hmmmmm...I see the metopic for sure. What I don't see from the photos is the classic triangular shaped head (trigonocephaly) that prompts most surgeons to operate. I can see the unevan pupils, though. Do you know what causes that??
He is a cute little man! Thanks for sharing the pics!

Unfortunately we don't know what's causing the uneven pupils. Or any of his other symptoms...I think I posted some of them in my thread here called "new to this board".
Isaac was diagnosed with mild metopic last year at which time the NS didn't see a need to do a CT due to how mild it was. It's only now that Isaac is having these weird neurological symptoms that the NS wants to make sure that the Cranio isn't causing ICP even as mild as his is. His forehead doesn't have the severe sloping that most metopics that need surgery have. He does have some mild sloping that is difficult to see in the pics.
Oh boy, I'm gonna go crazy before March gets here and our appt with the NS! Waiting is soooo hard when you see your little one going through so much! I'm sure most of you can relate to that though and so much more!

Hi there,
I can also see the metopic. Our son Alexander had his op for Metopic just last Friday 15th Feb. As the other mums will tell you, the waiting and leadup to surgery are very hard and you will go through all sorts of emotions which are perfectly natural.
Our journey is at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/alexanderjamesflis (http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/alexanderjamesflis) if you want to take a peek.
Let us know how you are going - everyone here will support you on the way.
Mel
We got through by posting often on the boards - even just to blow off steam or anxiety. Its good to look at post-op pictures as well - we found it really reassuring to look at other babies and how they came through their surgery so wonderfully.

Hi Isaac's mom, I dont know alot about metopic. Libby was a Sagital baby. And from some of your pics and him being asymetrical he looks alot like a Sagital kid. I dont know but I know Libby's looked alot like that when she was diagnosed. I am assuming that they did a CT scan of his entire head. I would ask if they are going to do another one.
Isaac is adorable! He has gorgeous hair! I just love it!

Yup I definitely see the metopic. It doesn't look like he has trigonacephaly but as I said in the other thread my surgeon said the bone CAN thicken on the inside instead of the outside causing ICP (one of the reasons they did a CT on Azia even though it was obvious she was metopic and had SEVERE trigonocephaly.) He sure has beautiful blue eyes though!! :o)

Thank you all for the warm welcome, and your willingness to share your stories and advice! I have already learned so much from reading through old posts on here.
LittleLibby'smom- I've been wondering about how long and narrow his head is. In fact, when we've seen doctors (for unrelated things) and we mention that he has Cranio, several doctors have replied "oh, is it his Saggital suture?" His NS didn't check for saggital, he just looked at his metopic and said he thought it was so mild that he didn't even feel a CT was necessary...so nope we've never had a CT. I'm going to mention it to the NS when we go back in March, and really push for a CT.
You also mentioned the asymetrical appearance....what's that? I've read a lot of terms and I'm trying to put them together. I'd be really grateful if you could help show/explain to me what that is on Isaac?
Azia's mommy- Yeah, he definately has metopic, and if he has trigonocephaly it's very mild...I'm really going to push for a CT. We did have an MRI done and it suggested mild trigonocephaly with thickening of the bone density about the metopic suture. It noted a few other things going on with his brain and we are waiting for the NS to explain them to us in March.
Thanks so much for the compliments everyone!
