Any mommy's with info?

Hi

Just want to know if any one can tell us if my baby might have a syndrome? He was born with an extra thumb and has closure on the rhs coronial suture?
Any info or advise will be helpfull

Hi mel,
Is there any history of craniofacial disorders on either side of the family at all? A genetecist would be the best person to tell you, they look the baby over head to toe and see things you or I might not ever notice. Syndromes typically involve more than one suture, but not always, and some syndromes also have abnormalities of the hands and or feet. Hope you get some answers soon :hugg

No real diagnosis has ever been made, but on my husbands side they have had someone with extra fingers before.

I know the 4 most common syndromes are crouzons,Pfeiffers,Aperts and Saethre-Chotzens.Sorry I cant be of more help.

Polydactyly (extra digits) can run in families so it doesn't necessarily mean a craniofacial syndrome if it occurs with synostosis. My mum, daughter and I all have mild webbing to the same toes on the same foot, but the geneticist says that my daughter's cranio is entirely unrelated and she is not syndromic.
