Here is a link to a flickr site I set up with pics from Joey's surgery, I uploaded them in order and they have them backwards on the site! So just have that in mind:

We went to see the PS today for a post-op visit and he said Joey looks great. I asked him about the sleeping and he said, oh, yeah, it's a side effect from the anesthesia, like he's jetlagged. I think he's traumatized, but hopefully in time it will get better! His labs were off in the hospital and they didn't even want to discharge us but he said, oh, that's nothing to worry about, it's due to the surgery and stuff.
He said not to do anything to the scar except wash it with baby shampoo and wait for the steri strips to fall off.
I asked about a helmet to protect his head since we are sooo nervous about him bumping it, but he said no, just leave him, if he bumps it a little, it's fine, if it's more than a little bump we should call him.
He also said to keep his head covered when out in the sun even in the winter since the scar is sensitive to sunlight, he said he should wear a hat and make sure it's not too tight.

Awesome pictures!!! Poor guy. He looks so happy at home though!! Thanks for the info on the post op stuff.
What kind of music did you have him listen to? Did you start playing it at home? How early before surgery did you play it? One month, two months? I really need to get some music going in the house for Wyatt so we can take it with us.
Again, he looks so great. What a cutie! Thanks for sharing your journey!

Joey is so adorable! I can only hope that Devon's surgery goes as well. Is there anything you can tell me to help me prepare for Feb.

Stephanie, what can i say, wow, he looks amazing, although some of the pics did have me in tears, but he has a gorgeous little round noggin and he looks so happy to be home. Thanks for the info post-op, i have also asked about protective head wear but ours said no too, im terrified of bringing him home after, as Bradley is so clumsy, he would trip over fresh air. Anyway i am so pleased he is doing well, the difference is unbelievable, well done Joey, and mummy. :cheer :hugg xx

Stephanie,

He looks incredible, I'm so happy the surgery is behind you.

Sarah (Wyatt's parents):
We also played music for David, it really helped to calm him down. It was just his regular baby music CD's, nursery rhymes. Another helpful thing was that in the weeks before surgery we read (just a few books) ALOT. When he would get a bit fussy in the hospital and couldn't see, we would recite the books to him in a calm, quiet voice and he would get still and quiet so he could listen, maybe he was imaging the pictures, I don't know. Every little bit helps, just thought I'd pass it on.
