Surgery is tomorrow. Question about feedings.

Addisyn goes in for her surgery tomorrow. I know she can have the pedialyte until 4 hours prior. Does this have to be unflavored or can she have the flavored kind? I am scared she wouldn't do well with the unflavored but I will exchange what I have if need be. I didn't even think to ask this at the pre-op appts. today.

Yes, cause it is about the consistency and ability to digest, not necessarily the flavor. From what I recall. BUT maybe someone who had surgery more recently can tell us if that has changed.

It is still clear liquid. I assume it would be ok since apple juice and freezer pops are allowed for older children.

They never told me either way so I assumed that any type of Pedialyte was fine. I'm not completely positive though!

I would think that it should be ok - its a clear fluid. I would think that it might be a problem with acidic juices like orange juice with a pulp.

Flavored pedialyte was ok

We just had it done and they didn't specify. I really don't think flavoring will make any difference.
