I had a biopsy done today on 2 suspicious moles on my back, and I have to wait 14 days to find out if they are malignant or benign. The physician is not too worried, but we have to be sure since I have had so much sun exposure my whole life. It has only been a few hours, and the wait is already driving me crazy! I am not very patient with these things. I am posting this here just to say that I really feel for those parents who have to wait on pins and needles for their CT scans to find out if a child has cranio or not. With Simon, we knew he had cranio, and the scan was for the benefit of the surgical team. I cannot begin to imagine having to endure a wait for a diagnosis when you have never even heard of cranio. My heart goes out to those parents, and I will be thinking of them an awful lot the next 14 days.

I got my results back today, and both samples were benign. :woohoo
Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. I think that I will set an appointment for Chris to get a screening next. Besides gators, moccasins, and hurricanes, this is another hazard of living in the Sunshine State.

Woohoo! Glad all came back fine....one less worry for the moment!
Not so sure about those gators...that would be hard to get used to!

I just noticed that all those hazards are team names. Florida Southern (our alma mater) is the Mocs; UF is the Gators; and and U of Miami is the Hurricanes. I wonder how long until a school becomes the Melanomas...
If they have a losing season, are they benign? When you realize that a high school in Key West is the Fighting Conch Shells, this is not too far off. Another school here in the south has the Screaming Grapefruits. I am not sure which one.
