Already need a new helmet!

It's been just a month since we got our helmet and at our appointment this week the orthotist said we'll be getting a new helmet in three weeks. That seems like such a short time to me...Cooper's noggin must really be growing fast. I know they say that he will get them more frequently to begin with and toward the end of the year he will keep the same one longer, but at the rate we're going, I don't know how we're only going to have 3-4 for the entire year. Since we had such a hard time getting this first helmet fitted correctly, I'm honestly not looking forward to it.

How quickly have others had to get new helmets?

We had a hard time with the first fitting as well! We only ended up going through two, and we only needed it for 6 months. I hope yours goes smoother this time!

We only went thru 2 helmets. The first one came pretty quickly, I think it was about 2 months after getting the first. By then her growth slowed down and she was able to stay in the second helmet until she was 12 months. Good luck with the next fitting, I hope it goes a lot smoother.

We just got our second helmet four days ago so just a little over 2 months in the first one. The first day was a little difficult because with the bigger helmet came extra weight so he wasn't the happiest little man at first. But he has already adjusted. Hope you have an easier transition and fit with the second. Good luck!

My little guy had the same one for 6 months before he got his new one but we probably should have had a new one sooner as it was quite small. Probably should have had a new one after 5 months. Fingers crossed he'll be done with it tomorrow after we see the neurosurgeon for his check up.
