I haven't posted for awhile, but Ethan, who is now six and a half, will be having surgery on July 21st, for saggital, at Children's Hospital in St. Louis with Drs. Smyth & Woo. Of course, I am scared and concerned, so any encouragement anyone can give me would be soooo appreciated right now. Blessings to all you moms, dads, and incredible kids.

Good luck you & Ethan! The older kids seem to do soooo well with this surgery. Hoping this is the case for Ethan!

Good luck! Everything will be fine! The kids do well. We have some parents with older children that do really great and can vocalize their discomforts which seem to be close to none. Keep us updated!

Good luck! My son was 4 for his 2nd surgery. The worrying I felt prep was worse than the surgery itself. It really helps that the older kids can verbalize how they are feeling/pain they are in. My son refused pain meds, he said he felt no pain. He was his normal self within a couple days. Until then, we just let let him watch TV & play video games. He was very content.

Best wishes and many prayers for you and Ethan. I imagine it's scary (for you and him) to go thru this at his age, but as someone mentioned, the older kids do great with surgery as well. Hang in there mama :)

Best wishes to you! I'm a big fan of St. Louis Children's and Dr. Smyth. He's been a great doctor to have in our corner. I hope they take good care of you all.

Leigha just had surgery June 8th for her bicoronal cranio regressing. It was a total CVR again and once her eyes opened she did great. Surgery was on Wednesday we were out of the hospital friday afternoon and by Tuesday she was back home running the streets with her friends. She swears there was no pain just mild headache or two and the worst part was her eyes swelling shut. We did a video interview with her one week and one month post-op if you'd like to see them my youtube channel is http://www.youtube.com/user/MelPipkins hang in there I think its more emotionally exhausting for you with the older kids because you have to remain so composed for them despite falling apart inside ((hug)) if you ever need to talk please private message me.

Good luck, i will pray for yall, and i had a second opinion with those doctors there i am from nashville, and i had actually preferred to have the surgery there but stayed in nashville because of our family. They give you all the attention that you need and support to keep strong! GOOD LUCK!
