Just got an update from Stephanie on FB:
So Nathan is still in the OR. Only a couple more hours! Andrew and I are actually doing good. I thought I would loose it handing him over, but it was surprisingly calm. He left smiling, and didn't cry at all this morning. That is probably what made it easier. I'll let you know as soon as he gets out! Thanks for everything and for being there. :)

I just got another update:
So we met with the NS. He finished his part. Nathan ending up needing a partial CVR. There was a bit more pressure than they anticipated, and a little bit more complicated. So another 2 hours he said until Dr. Phillips
Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers!

Update from this morning:
Last night it wasn't bad. We got some sleep. He did get a fever, but they got it down with tylenol.
This morning hasn't been great. Nathan's bleeding hasn't stopped, and he needed another transfusion. We... won't get to our room until at least the afternoon. On good news, his catheter has been removed, he is moving. The swelling isn't bad yet, he can open his eyes. He's pretty groggy from the morphine.
I think I missed telling you, they did metopic and sagittal. So more than what they had told us even with the CT scan.
Please send some positive thoughts prayers to Nathan. I hope the rest of the recovery goes smoothly.

Aww, I hope he recovers well now. My daughter ended up getting another unit of blood while in recovery. Good luck!

They are in the regular room now. They had to give him a shot of Vit K to help his blood clot, if that didn't work Dr Phillips was going to go in to see where the bleeding was coming from, but it stopped so no surgery needed. Oh and he didn't also have metopic srugery....the NS team was mixed up, she talked to Dr P's fellow and he told her it was only the sag.
Hopefully they are all resting now and on the road to recovery!

Hey! Sorry I haven't got on myself. Thanks everyone for the support and thanks to Janet for updating you all!
Nathan had an amazing turn around on Sunday. His fever broke, he was eating (his IV was removed), his swelling went down, and by the time he went to bed he had one eye open. When he got up Monday, he could open both eyes! Dr. Phillips (our PS) came in to check on him, and said that he would be fitted for his helmet. He also said we could go home if we wanted. So after a dramatic Thursday night and Friday, we got to go home earlier than thought! Dr. P also said he was couldn't believe that Nathan's head already looked like a normal shaped head. LOL, I guess he did a good job.
Nathan is having a bit of a hard time at home so far (as expected). He is starting to feel better, but he is still crying whenever we aren't holding him or right beside him. He even cries when he is put on his change table, and I can't get him to sleep in his crib or his play pen in our room. I just keep reminding myself it will get better.
Here are a couple pictures:

He gets his helmet Wednesday. I'm not really looking forward to it, especially if Nathan is still acting like he is now. They said it would be about a 3 hour appointment for the final fitting. Oh well.
