Nolan's CT is tomorrow and I am a nervous wreck. I wish I had asked for an earlier time but it is at 11am and he is going to be a WRECK going without food for that long.
I'm also worried about them putting him under for the procedure, that's always worrisome.
I wanted to show you guys a video of some of his strange behavior that I caught on tape.

He does that a lot. Also vomits, has bloody noses, head-butts people/things, rubs his head on the floor...
Does this look look like ICP? I wonder how longit will take to get the results of the CT?

Good luck tomorrow!
I do wonder too if he's experiencing headaches. It's so hard to tell when they can't communicate. The vomiting and bloody noses would make me very concerned as well.
Please keep us posted. :hugg

Oh, it's almost like deja vu! My daughter was doing that constantly prior to her surgery. I kept telling any doctor that would listen! I was so concerned about pressure. (she was sagittal, btw). Instead, they sent me to an ENT, thinking something was up with her ears but no one ever found anything. She had her surgery about 2 weeks ago. She hasn't done it once since then! Coincidence? Maybe. I'm no doctor. I still think she had some pressure and no one wants to admit they were wrong. At least you're getting the scan done. Hopefully, they can tell if he has any problems. Good luck!

Interesting. Zane used to do something similiar prior to his surgery. He would hit his forehead and a little above very frequently, even caught him sometimes doing it while sleeping. Hasn't done it since surgery. I have always wondered about it.

Wow - see, I find it facinating that so many of our kids had the same behavior. Lennon did this also and even though she was DX as not having ICP, I know she did - she had every symptom in the book. Also, they never did the right tests or scans to properly test her for ICP.
Anyhow, enough of that rant. :)
Nolan was a ROCKSTAR at his CT yesterday. He didn't even FLINCH, let alone cry when they put the IV in and everything went great.
My problem now is going to be getting the results. I called to check and was told by our social worker that they are in, but that the doctor is not until tomorrow so we cannot get the results until then. I am rather irritated and I am going to try to reach a different doctor.

My son does the same thing ! I thought I was making a mountain out of a dirt pile. He is constantly rubbing his head, he bangs his head, grabs the temple area and cries the only thing he doesnt do is vomit. He is having surgery on 06/29/11.

I finally got the results last night, but only after they acted totally strange about it, scared me half to death and threw me in to a panic attack in the middle of the grocery store.
Apparently none of our doctors were available and so the poor dr on call thought he was breaking the news to us that Nolan had cranio. Poor guy was a mess and was pretty surprised when I said I already knew.
So apparently the CT order was written up wrong and they thought they were looking for cranio, when what we were really looking for was ICP and hydrocephelous (sp?). Anyhow, the dr said the CT was negative for those two things anyway and I think he was just thrilled tha I wasn't a hysterical mess.
He did suggest that we not wait until our next appointment to see a neuro surgeon though and gave me a name of someone to contact.
So, that's where we stand for now.
