Was your child's head "perfectly round" after surgery or did it take time? Did he/she have some lumps and bumps? Ainsley seems to have some lumpy places that the doctor says is perfectly normal (as things shift). Did anyone else experience this?
Thanks!

My son AJ is 18 months post op for Sagittal and he's totally lumpy and bumpy. They say it's normal.

I don't think a sagittal kiddo will ever have a perfectly round head....as a sagittal mom, I'm very happy with oval! ;)
And lumpy/bumpy is definitely normal post-op!

Lots of lumps and bumps here after both surgeries. We were told he'll probably always be

We're lumpy and bumpy too. I don't mind them as much as her bulging new holes where I can see her pulse in the back and top of her head. Surgery was 4 months ago...

Lumps and bumps are normal. They lay down new bone faster in some areas.

How is Ainsley doing?
My son's head was nice and round right after surgery. As it started to grow, he developed a bump on top of his head. He also has several soft spots that didn't close. Surgery helps provide the brain with room to grow, but may times it results in a lumpy, bumpy skull.

My son is lumpy and bumpy too. Dr. says it will get better? Guess I will just have to wait and see.
Good luck

My daughter has lots of bumps and a big open area, her surgeon said it is normal. He said lumps will go away over time and hopefully those open areas will eventually grow together on their own. My daughter is about 4 months post op and it seems that certain parts of her head are getting lumpier. We can actually see a big dent on the back of her head where the back sutures are shifting. She was coronal so I guess it is really good that things are kind of shifting back the way they were supposed to be. I am really hoping this will help give her head a bit more of a round shape eventually.

Sorry, I don't mean to make light of the lumps and bumps. But when I read the thread title, "Lumpy and Bumpy" all I could think of is are they the 8th and 9th dwarves?
