Q's recovery thus far

ITs the evening of Post-op Day 1. Quilla has by far exceeded my expectations and maybe I was prepared for the absolute worst. She's been crawling all over her crib and trying so hard to scale the sides and take every line out of her body! ITs been a funny sort of day.
We're out of the ICU and to a surgical room on the general floor. She's eating playing and enjoying riding in one of the taxi cab buggies! While Maddie was in a red race car Quilla was motoring down the hall with a huge grin on her face! Her eyes are open more now than this morning. We're still thinking the swelling could close her eyes soon. Hoping that we can keep her head elevated though the night...she's such a scootcher in her sleep!
Can't wait to get photos up when we're at home. They are sweet and precious!

What an awesome update! Like you I was prepared for the worse. You never know, Q's eyes may never really swell shut. Braydon's did for only a couple of hours. So don't be surprised if they don't. It can happen.

We're out!!! Post op day 3!!! Could not have been better! Who knew we would think that!!!???
Quilla is in great spirits. She currently asleep in the same room as her sister and boy were they excited to stand at the sides of their crib/pack & play and chatter with each other as we put them down for naps!
She's not had much of an appetite for anything other than breastfeeding or formula but did take a little juice this morning. We were assured by both the plastics and neuro teams that this was OK and should return within a week.
So exciting!
Well, since they are asleep, I should take a nap. The hospital is no place for sleep!
Thanks for all the support out there. Its been great knowing that so many have been pulling for us! I know Quilla is stronger for it!
