Our son David will have his surgery for Metopic at Boston Children's Hospital on Dec. 12th.
Dr. Proctor n/s and Dr. Rogers p/s will perform his CVR/FOA. He will be 9 months at the time.
It doesn't seem real, I'm still in some kind of shock I think. Thanks so much to everyone for sharing their stories. Even if I don't post much, I'm in here reading ALL the time.

There must be something so real and tangible when you get a date. Its marked on the calendar and gets closer every day. I am still in that bit before hand where we keep talking about surgery - I can be all big and brave about it because it is at an imaginary point 'sometime' in the future. You are at the next step - and do you know what - you are a step closer to joining the mums on the 'other side' sharing stories about magnificent recoveries. We are all at different points on the same (or similar) journey but we are all in here together to help. I just keep my eyes fixed on all those gorgeous kids smiling out from the computer screen - back to their cheeky selves after a wee spell in hospital. Back to normal before you can say . . . . .craniosynostosis!!

Sam- perfect description.
Cathy- having a date does make it more real. I knew surgery was going to happen, so having the date made it easier for me... Please add David's surgery date to the calendar so we can make sure to send some extra prayers and positive thoughts your way!

Sam - you did put it perfectly.
Getting a surgery date for Gavin in one way was a relief but in another way was really scary because it was now real.
Please keep us posted on little David. CranioKids has been great for me during this "waiting" period.

The time between getting the date and getting to the surgery goes very quickly. Our gap was 8 weeks and it felt like 8 days. It is a scary build up but like a roller coaster it is all downhill after you get to the top! It is wonderful to be on the other side!!!!
