Mercedes Appt Tommorow!!!!!!

Tommorow is a Big day for Mercedes and I, we have her appointment with the plastic surgeon at 9:00 am. We have to leave here about 5:30 am to arrive on time, I will let everyone know what happeneds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone, Thanks for all the concern. It went really well, thank god I had everyone here to answer many of my question already. I went in there really prepared. Most of everything that the docter said I had already knew because of everyone elses previous experiances. They set her surgery date for January 7th 2008, seems like along ways from now but I know it will be here before I know it. They said that they are going to do the CVR and she will be in the hospital for 4 days. And the operation will take 4 hours. The docter said that he has done over 500 of these cases and does about 2 a week. They went over what we will go through before, during and after the surgery. They said as the day comes closer they will go through everything agian. I was actually alittle disappointed that they did not schedule it sooner, but I guess the docter is pretty busy. They said that as long as they do it before she is 1 it will be okay. But she turns one in Feb and they are doing it in Jan, I thought that was cutting it kinda of close but I guess the Docter knows best. I guess now it is just a waiting game. Thanks everyone, it helps to know that there is other people thinking about you when you are going through a tough time. XOXO

Glad to hear your appointment went well. January does seem far away but you are right, it will be here before you know it - it does make the anticipation drag out though. Our doctor said the same thing about doing it before the age of one. Gavin has his surgery 5 days before he turns one. It is great having everybody here on Craniokids. Although there is lots of family and friends behind us, it is great to be able to connect with people who are going through or have gone through the same thing.

I remember the "waiting game" it was tough, the anticipation of the surgery, but like you said it will fly by. I remember how reassuring it was to have all my friends on here. I just felt so well prepared, as you already know. Well, I'm glad that your appointment went so well. We will be here if you have any questions :)
