Mercedes was born on the morning of 2/12/07. She was 6lbs 1oz and 19 inches long. She was born in a small hospital in Abilene Kansas. During the stay at the hospital they never mentioned anything about her head shape. In my eyes she looked like a normal baby girl, we thought her head was misshapen from they way she was in the womb. When I went in for her 2 week check up her docter took numerous measurement of her head and said it was elongated and her ears looked a little low set. They also mention a crease in the palm of her hand. Her docter then made a appointed for us with genetics in Kansas City, MO at the Childrens Mercy Hospital. The genetics docter then ran numerous chromosomes test and said that she didn't have any kind of syndromes. She also had CT and it did show that the Sagittal surture has close and all other surtures remain open. The last test result I recieved in the mail about 3 weeks ago and it said she did not have Saethre-Chotzen. The nurse from the Genetics Clinic called to tell me of the result as well and told me of the consultation they set up with the plastic surgeon Docter V. Singal on October 3rd 2007 at 8am. So here I am now awaiting the appointment just wondering what is to come. As far as Merecedes now... Aside from the elongated head she is perfectly normal.

I will stay updated, I don't have many pictures, I will try to get some on here asap. Let me know if anyone has been to this Hospital or seen this doctor!!!

My son has recently been diagnosed with sagittal and he has creases in both of his palms. Is this related do you know? Or cause for concern that maybe he has a syndrome, we weren't referred genetics.

Thanks for your story! You have a beautiful family and I wish you the best with the surgery!

The crease in the palm they said it was related to a certain syndrome but I can not remember the name. My daughters wasn't, all testing came back normal. If I were you I would just bring it up to you docter. The crease was one of the first things my docter pointed out. But it was only a concern because of some other underlineing things like the low set ears. My husband and son also have the crease so you might look at your familys hands, it weird haw you don't notice little things like that till someone else mentions it. Well I wish you luck through your during, You have came to a great place where you will get lots of love and encouragmnet.
