Do you know of anything that can be done after the surgeries to prevent sutures from re-closing? Types of therapies? Craniosacral? Supplements?

Unfortunately, our cranio kids no longer have "sutures". Once they close- that is it. "Sutures" cannot be recreated. Sutures are made of a fibrous material that allows for rapid growth. Surgeons often leave an open area where the suture is supposed to be to allow for some skull growth post op, but the opening usually closes up/ fills in over a few weeks post op. Think of it like a broken bone mending itself within six to eight weeks.

I'm sorry I know this is all upsetting but the kids do really well with surgery. I know your little guy has numerous fused sutures so his case is challenging. My guess is you have been told he may need more than one surgery. Again I am sorry for your worry momma, but really the kiddo's do just great and if he needs a couple surgeries or more he will do great each time and he will be your hero- you will be amazed by how strong he is truly you will.

I would not try any therapies/supplements without express consent of your son's surgeons.
