Kalem's update

[KALEMSMOM]

Well we have a follow-up for Kalem set for March 29 and we see our neurosurgeon for Kalem's dimple and mass on lower back on March 28 so we will be in Toronto for 3 days, we are going to make in a mini vacation and also visit the zoo there. It should be fun. We also meet a development specialist at the same time, just to see where he's at. I just really, really hope that the hump is nothing major. Please keep your fingers crossed for us.

My fingers are crossed for you! Dillon had quite a deep dimple at the base of his spine (right above his butt crack :giggle), and a port wine stain just above it. I thought it was just a "stork bite" but the orthopedic surgeon told me otherwise. The dimple has closed up on its own now, and X-rays show his lower spine and hips are just fine. I hope the same proves to be true for Kalem :hugg

Zachary also has the little dimple, which turned out to be nothing. I hope it will be the same for you and Kalem. Have fun on the mini vacation.

I'm not really worried about the dimple as I can see it's closed. It's the large mass righ under it that worries me. It's pretty large, about the size of a quarter and it really sticks out. It's hard almost like bone. The minute you take off his diaper, he instantly starts scratching at it. Especially in the tub, he'll scratch and scratch till it's bloody red. I just pray that it's nothing major, I'll go nuts:crazy
