Thanks guys!
I will update when we get back. I have complete butterflies in my stomach right now.... So nervous. Then anestic...(the person who puts her to sleep- you'd think I could spell that by now) called last night. He doesn't have high hopes that she can do it w/o....(I'd have to agree w/ him) They will just give her a little gas.....said she'll be out really quick. Of course he called like at 8:50 last night...so totally the last thing on my mind as I went to sleep......It'll be weird seeing her like that.....

Emily did fine on the CT Scan. I did not do so well. Because they are upgrading their CT thing in the childrens area, they had to take her to a different area- a restricted area where non staff/patients were not allowed. Soooo, we got to walk with her down a hall and then had to let her go.....the look on her face was complete horror. She didn't cry though- that helped. I cried. I was so not prepared to have her go into a room w/o me or Christian (last time Christian was in the room and I watched from a window). About 15 minutes later they wheeled her back- she was crying but not awake. She started opening her eyes as I was holding her....she was a bit fussy, but otherwise good. She downed some apple juice and was ready to go. They told us that she probably couldn't walk for about 2 hours- but w/in the hour she wanted down and we let her try...she did fine, just a little tipsy. She's done good today- just a bit edgy - will break down at the drop of a hat if it's something that doesn't make her happy.....I figure she has a free 'whiney day' pass though :giggle.
I requested a CD of the scans. They are getting them to me, but I can't get them till tomorrow (they were having problems burning it?). They also asked me if I wanted her originals (from pre-surg) on CD- I asked how much- they are free...Heck yeah I want them! I think it's the first thing I heard of at the hospital that is free!
Thanks again for your thoughts and best wishes!!!

I am so glad to hear everything went well. What a trooper. I would have cried myself. I think that was the absolute toughest part for me was to hand him over for the surgery, so that would have brought many memories back. She's a tough one, you know that will really, really help during surgery. Hang in there mom. Just know that us cranio mommies are here for you.
Side note, you got lucky for the CD, we had to pay $25. But a small price to pay. You can't beat it for FREE though.

I'm so glad she did well! I have the CD's of all Dillon's scans also, I was thrilled when I found out they were free and requested every one of them! You can also request a copy of the radiologists report too, but if it's the same way there as it is here, it takes several days for the final report to be done. If you can, post some pics from the disk!

:icon_mrgr Glad to hear everything went ok. I have to agree, handing them over is the toughest part. It's been 9 months and I still can not talk about when the nurse walked away w/ her... even now I am trying to block it out.:cry I hope everyhting goes good from here on out. :hugg

Ok, ladies, I am now almost crying. I couldn't imagine handing Zachary over without me or Danny going too. You are one strong mama, Jen!! That must be where Emily gets it from. Glad she did well.
