Hello Everyone. My name is Candice, and my daughter Kendall, born April 5th, 2007, was diagnosed with Scaphocephaly at her 2-month check-up. Her ped then referred us to the Children's Hospital in Denver where it was confirmed by their team. We are devastated by this news, but are determined to learn as much as we can to be informed advocates for our little girl. Kendall's surgery is scheduled for July 5th. I think this site is so WONDERFUL and I'm SO glad you all are here. I don't feel so alone, and I hope to be able to help other parents of CranioKids through our experience. I look foward to talking with all of you, and any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Yay! It's so great to hear from all of you! All of your children are so beautiful as well!
Jennifer: Kendall is having her surgery in Denver. I'll be flying down on the 30th and then my DH will join us on the 3rd. Luckily, my Mom lives in Cheyenne so we'll have the comforts of home the week leading up to her surgery. I'm going to be the donor for her blood transfusion, and with the Fourth of July and everything we have to be down there early. That's great you grew up in Billings, small world huh! I see you are in Oregon now, how do you like it, do you miss Montana?

Heather & Jacqui: Thanks so much for the warm welcome, this is already helping me SO much. Heather, Miriam looks like a little princess in her picture, so precious. I also think I would be interested in helping you out with Hats Off to CS Kids. I really want to be able to help other people!

You sound like you have everything in order for the surgery. Kendall will do so well-- they amaze me every time.

Montana- I moved at the end of 5th grade. Unfortunantly I've only been back twice and the last time I was 18-- which was quite a while ago :giggle I have a few friends that I still talk with and would love to take the kids back at some point.....I do love Oregon- the weather was an adjustment (just the lack of 'definate' seasons and more rain), but I'm now loving it! :giggle

Jennifer: I think Kendall will do awesome as well. She had a traumatic birth and was in the NICU for a few days, but she amazed the Dr.'s and made a quick recovery, she's my little fighter!

My best friend just moved up to Portland, and she's trying to get used to the rain!! I've always wanted to go to Oregon, I have an Aunt that lives in Seattle. You'd be AMAZED at how much Billings has changed. I have only been here for 6 years and I've watched it grow so much, it's nuts!!

Then it is a small world! I'm in Beaverton, which is pretty much Portland (they all run into eachother). SIL and cousins in Seattle (would definatly choose Portland over Seattle- though Seattle is fun to visit!)
I just need to plan a trip back-- would love to see the things I remember and how they really look now! I went to school at Lockwood. I here the same 5th grade teacher (my favorite) is still teaching there and now teaching my friends child.... Okay, won't go further down memory lane. Did you grow up there and move away, or did you just move there as an adult?

Jennifer: I grew up in Wyoming. I moved to Bozeman to go to college at Montana State, but came to Billings to visit my best friend (the one who moved to Oregan) and she sent me on a blind date with my hubby!

Thanks for the support with Hats off to CS Kids. Unfortunately the doctor I have contacted haven't really responded. I will put you on my list though and let you know if anything happens with it.
Thanks again.
