Since there's a chance we may travel for surgery, just curious what you all have had or will face for post-op care/treatment???? Cameron has sagittal and will most likely have the surgery where they cut from ear to ear, no helmet. TIA

We traveled quite a ways for Ian's surgery (out of state and then some) and our after care has been a breeze. His Dr. tries to make it as easy for parents as possible. We sent pics at 6 weeks post op, and then at 6 months. We chose to make a trip back to Dallas for his one year post op, but the Dr. would have been fine with pics and head measurements via email too. From here on out, it will be pics and head measurements every year, unless we feel the need for in person inspection. It can be done... Hang in there and keep us posted!

Lots of moms on here have traveled for surgery and you can make it work. We didn't travel for ours but for our post-op care we went back at 7 weeks so they could look at her head. Like Larkin said some doctors will just look at emailed pics so you don't have to travel back. We have another appt. soon at 4 months post-op and then they want to see her when she turns a year (in May).
When you're talking to the possible surgeon you may go see ask what the follow up procedures are.
