That Remy does not have Crouzons Syndrome. I am so relieved. It took about a week for it to really sink in. So now we wait until May 7th for the surgery. He is having resurfacing and restructing - I see acronyms for some of the surgeries however I am not familar with them. His PS will basically cut each plate and interlock them. I know he will do great and I know we have an excellent PS.

I am nervous as I will have finals either the week after his surgery or two weeks after. Will I make it - we have to pass with a 75% regardless of what we have in the class in order to pass the semester. YUCK! I am very nervous about the timing. Of course he is my main concern an of course school is a priority as I have fought and waited for years to get into this program and there is just no way to change any of it. I can't change my test days and his surgery of course can't be changed. My poor little guy also doesn't seem to take pain well either so I am just nervous for him and for our family. I know truly it will be fine and he will do great and I will pass - I guess I would just like to know what recovery is like for our sweet babies? Any input would be great. :)

Glad for your good news! Tough one on the timing. I'm thinking most cases the worst is over by one to two weeks. The other girls here can also detail for you. Have you checked out the forums of post surgeries?

I can say that it seems boys have a hard time with pain only if it's not themselves inflicting the pain!

That is horrible timing! They all seem to recover really well-Hospital time is usually 3-5 days. The hardest thing I can think of is sleeping-some seem to be afraid to be left alone, so it's almost like having a newborn w/ the periodic sleeping. :hugg

Good luck with everything! Timing is tough but like others say he will be through the worst by then and only have sleeping issues. Though that is a whole other headache! We are cheering for you! Just think of the relief you will feel to be on the other side.

I hope all goes well. I know in Miriam's case she did wonderful. We were out of the hospital in 3 days. My only input is to ask your PS about Procrit. It is an injection of medicine to up the blood levels in hopes they don't have to do blood transfusion. Miriam had the Procrit and didn't need blood. I think that really helped her.
I will keep you and your littel one in our prayers.
