I was waiting for a consult appt. to discuss the results of the scan.

My son said the doc called him today and said that after review, he feels the baby does need surgery. !**!**!
When the scan was done, Brandi said he asked them how they thought he looked...well of course beautiful! Major cuommunication break down!
I am thinking this may fall into the dialouge we all have been discussing regarding the difference between cosmetic and nessasary. As unethical as our medical care is to include decisions made by the insurance companies, I would like to know his reasoning for this ...mistake?.
Yes the kids are young, but they deserve the honest truth and facts not just an opinion.
We will meet again next week. I will ask for and antisipate the opinion of my sons surgeon, Hankinson, as to wheather or not this doc should continue to be our surgeon.
Deep down inside I knew something was not right. So today, again we prepare for battle. Brandi was very upset at first, but she's ok.

Sorry to hear this Lori. Go with your gut instincts where doctors/surgeons are concerned I've had gut instincts about this in the past I ignored and wished I hadn't. If our twin's scans come back as cranio I will be getting a second opinion before surgery.

I am so sorry. I know our son and you will pull through. You are such strong people. I hope you get the answers you need.

wow can't believe that, I had a real challenge similar with Matthew he was diagnosed by neurology at my pediatric office through scans! We were referred to NS the NS said he did not think that matt had cranio he wanted the scan at his facility low and behold tada he had it like the first scan said!
My experience with doctors:
sometimes they speak too soon
sometimes they speak too much
sometimes they like to cover their butts and order tests over and over
the result they can still however show us miracles everyday and smile with pride that we put our trust in them!
I will pray for all of you!

I am convinced this NS is a robot! He is so ... distant. Typical of an NS but it is frustrating. His skill as a surgeon is ok. The upside is, the chief NS is a woman and she will be there during the surgery. It took her one second to come down to our world and offer a sincere smile!
Another concern right now is Jon Jr. has alot of trouble breathing. Jon took him to the Doc yesterday. We live 50 miles away and the doc had someone bring the breating treatment machine to my house as the place was closing. I was in shock! The girl that brought it was just so kind. Isn't that just so amazing? The surgery is set for the 29th however his lungs must clear up. It sounds so tight, poor baby! We go back today to get a check up.
His pre op labs went well. As we walked in I asked who had the most experience and who was the best with babies, and they all pointed to one woman. She did a great job. Mommy did ok too!
I say that these babies are already perfect. We as parents are only doing everything in our power to give to them the best we can through much love and tough decisions.
Where the heck are you Cindy? Anyone heard from her?
