We went to Skylie's appointment today and they didn't do bloodwork or anything. They just talked with us and asked a bunch of questions about our parents and their brother's and sisters (our aunts and uncles) and our siblings. They said that just looking at her she doesn't appear to have any genetic disorders and since no one in our immediate family has any disorders she should be fine.

They want to see her back in one year to make sure she is growing well and thats it. I don't even see what the point of that appointment was. All we did was repeat everything we have told her pediatrician and that was it. I'm seriously considering not even going back in a year because there really was nothing that they did that her pediatrician couldn't do just as well. It costs us almost $10 worth of gas just to get to the clinic and it takes an hour to drive there and then an hour to drive home.

The only good part about the drive there was we passed this accident between a truck and a cop car. It was pretty cool...LOL (don't worry, no one was hurt) Here is the link to the news story about it:

I'm glad it doesn't look like any syndromes or anything- I'm sorry it seemed a waste of your time- it almost sounds like something they could've done via email as you were traveling so far!

Those are some cute babies! Glad to hear it doesn't appear to be genetic.
I thought the crash story was great, good job by that cop... funny though! But don't you wonder what kind of junker they're going to give this cop to drive next? Ha! ...poor guy!

I too am glad to hear it doesn't appear to be a syndrome. they usually won't run the bloodwork unless there is strong belief there is one because it is so pricey (dillon's test for SCS was over $600).
Whoa on that accident, I've never seen one involving a police car!

Sounds good, ours will be involving a whole lot because of my hubby's muscle weakness and now that his Mom may have MS they really want to see all the kids.
You may want to go back just incase to be safe some things show at certain times in a persons life, I am glad you had a safe journey though..."what an accident"!:icon_mrgr
