Taran's surgery is March 5th and I'm a compulsive planner... what did you all pack for the hospital stay. He's effectively 2.5 months at the time of the surgery (that'll he his adjusted age cause he's a preemie). Thanks for the advice!

These are great lists!

My favorite was my camera. It was great to document his changes as the hours went by. I still look back to my pictures.

Bring ALL paperwork that you have up to this date. Especially the carbon copy from Carson authorizing the surgery (he mentioned that sometimes that the admission folks do not have all that they need - you can give them that with your paperwork).

What I wish I knew was that I could go from the PICU to the regular Ped unit to take a shower (bring your toiletries!). Also the hospital has a plethora of blankets but because of the detergent they were extremely irritating to Joseph's skin. I would have brought a ton from home to make up for it.

If nursing the hospital does give you bottles however they are small (2.5 oz I think). They fill quick! I was happy to bring many of my 5 ouncers from home.

Anyway...that is my two cents.
