So the waiting game begins. Our surgery date is set for March 5th and preop and CT scan on Feb 19th. My stomach is in knots! I just want this over so we can move on with... life! Thanks for listening.

Glad you've got some dates, now you can get your mind set in getting ready.
I was given 4 weeks to wait from diagnosis to surgery, in some ways I wanted it to hurry up and in others I wanted it to take as long as poss.

I found though that it all seemed to go so quickly - I got my head down into a list (I love my lists) of things to organise, get done and packed and before I knew it I was sat at the hospital the night before the operation wondering where the last 4 weeks went.
I found this time hard....you know not wanting or not being able to plan too far ahead. Just wanted to let you know no matter what your emotions are or how strange they may feel we are here for you if you need to talk.

And everybody has loads of tips on what to pack to take with you so don't hesitate to ask!!!

Thanks for all the support!!! The preop went REALLY well! Dr. Carson (NS) said that he sees no indication of any syndrome and believes the saggital cranio is an isolated abnormality. CT was normal (aside from the fused suture) so we are thrilled that his brain looks "perfect." Surgery is a week from Monday and I'm starting to have the teary breakdowns. My little boy is so sweet, innocent and happy and I just don't want him in any pain. All I have to say is he's a brave kid... what infant smiles and coos at the phlebotomist as she takes preop labs?!??! I'll keep everyone posted but please keep my son in your prayers on Monday March 5th! THANKS!!!

I am glad all went well. It does help with the waiting. I know for us the preop stuff was really hard. And it only made things worse on me.
You and your son will do fine. If he is that great and happy now he will amaze you.
You are in our prayers.

Glad to hear that the pre-op went well. It sounds like you all are in the home stretch and that soon it will all be behind you. For us the waiting was the hardest part. Ray had very little discomfort from his incisions (endo craino procedure) and was only just tylenol within 24 hrs. of surgery. Good luck.
