I went with the kids to take Jon Jr. to his appointment. I went armed with Jon Sr.'s papers from his '84 surgery (and the strength and knowledge I've found here). The doctor walked up to the baby looked at him, touched his head and said yes, he does have Sagittal Crainiosynostosis. As I knew, his brain in fine. He is very alert, his eye contact is very good, he loves to laugh. He is 5 months now, so our next plan is a scan, 3-d with bone windows. This NS does know Jon Sr.'s surgeon, after the scan we will meet again and concur on a plan of action.
I did voice my concern of hereditary issues. This doctor has been doing this SC surgery since '74. He said he cannot comment on this, as quite frankly it is not often they have parent and child to compare. However he can refer me to a Genealogist. (I like him , he seems like a good person, this Dr. Turner) As I looked at my son, holding my son at this moment in his life,... I saw me. He was holding up so strong on the outside, but I know what was going on in the inside. He is feeling really bad, he blames himself to a point, he is crushed by the thought of what Jon Jr. will be going through. I know that these are all normal reactions and feelings that he will deal with. I know he will be ok. Brandi is a tough kid too, and she has me! I was their coach for the delivery. They did great! They are both under so much stress. All I can say is, love is forgiveness.
Still learning the computer stuff. I give my word I will learn what this is, how we can test for it... I want to find more answers and knowledge of what we are dealing with, so that I can help to inform all my children!
PS : *posted info on Gestational Diabetes on that thread. Hope it helps, this certainly helps me! :uh

Thank you for the update Lori, it's great ot hear that you all feel good about the surgeon. Defenitely a good idea to go see a genetecist, if there is a hereditary link, they will sure be able to tell you! Give your son and Jon Jr's mom a big hug from me :hugg

Thanks for the update. It sounds like all of you have a great support system to each other.

:thankyou
Jon and Brandi were touched to hear about everyone here. I know they are so worried.
Katie, I plan to contact the scientists (geneticists) in the cytogenetics and molecular labs. I assume... a Chromosome Analysis (blood - high resolution analysis) will be ordered. I want one of them one to one over a cup of coffee... or wouldn't it be great to get one here! What a thought.
Heather, I hope the support contact idea gets rolling soon!
