After finding out that I carry the gene Muenke gene we are contemplating on whether to have more children. Has anyone done IVF and had the embryos screened? I'm not sure if this is the road we are going to head down, I'm just looking for info. Thanks!

I don't have any info, but I just wanted to say hey and that it's good to see you! How is Jonathan doing?

There was someone that used to post on here who did that. She herself had cranio and was diagnosed with Saethre Chotzen. I'm not coming up with her name right now, but she hasn't posted for quite a while.

Hi Lisa! We are doing great! Jonathan is walking and getting into all kinds of stuff. Every day I think my house is baby-proofed and everyday he proves me wrong :-) We are moving forward with getting hearing aids. Next week we have another BAER test to do and then the following week J is getting fitted. Wow!
We just found out that I have Muenke and now we are contemplating what our next move is. The only characteristic I have is moderate hearing loss, so it was quite a surprise to find out.
How's Bradley doing? I love your new avatar pic of him!

Andi is the name of the gal that Cheryl is referring to.

Yes, Andi. I kept thinking Alex, but I knew that wasn't right. :)

Great to hear J is keeing you on your toes as boys should! lol Let me know how the hearing aids go. We will be following up with our ENT in about 3 months to determine if a next step is necessary for Bradley. How did Jonathan's surgery go? I don't think I have talked to you since then. Bradley is healing great but we are pretty sure we have another surgery looming in the future, what point, we don't know yet. Great to see you and stick around!

We have done IVF, but not with PGD. I have heard it's very successful, but also very expensive ($5000 on top of the IVF costs), and not all IVF clinics offer it (ours didn't). I know it has given a lot of people peace of mind, though, which makes the extra expense worth it for many people (I don't know if it's covered by insurance...my guess is that it isn't).

If you have any questions about IVF itself, let me know.

Best of luck to you.
